 PTFE bearing pads, also known as Teflon bearing pads, are widely used in bridge construction and structural engineering to provide a low-friction sliding interface for accommodating expansion and rotational movements. These pads combine laminated rubber with a dimpled PTFE sheet, enabling them to reduce friction coefficients and enhance displacement capacity under vertical and horizontal loads. Available in round and rectangular shapes, PTFE bearing pads support structural rotations at beam ends and efficiently absorb horizontal shear deformations, making them suitable for bridges, highways, and other large infrastructure projects requiring reliable movement control and load transfer.
