TDS计是英文 'TotalDissolvedSolid' 的缩写，意思是可溶解固体总量，可溶解固体总量是指溶解在水里的无机盐和有机物的总称。其主要成分有钙、镁、钠、钾离子和碳酸离子、碳酸氢离子、氯离子、硫酸离子和硝酸离子等。因此TDS计就是可溶解固体总量测试仪。TDS计的单位是ppm（即mg/L），其量值定义为一定比例数的电导率值，一般取0. 7左右。TDS计自动温度补偿的基准温度一般为25℃，温度系数一般为2%/℃。
