Types of Thin Film Switching Materials
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is stable to acids, alkalis and salts at 60 C from 0.175 to 0.5/smooth room temperature. Good wear resistance, fire resistance, self-extinguishing, noise elimination, good electrical insulation. Thermal stability is poor. Low-cost ordinary signs and panels
Polycarbonate PC-60-120 0.175-1.0 has high light transmittance, low water absorption, good dimensional stability, excellent flexural, tensile and compressive strength, excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical insulation and atmospheric aging resistance. Drug resistance is poor, fatigue resistance is poor, stress cracking is easy to occur. The output interface terminal circuit is generally made of carbon material printed, and there is no protective coating. It is gradually oxidized by air to form an exfoliation layer, which eventually leads to circuit breakdown and life termination. This is the most vulnerable place for membrane switches to fail, mainly in the environment. It is decided that the physical damage time is 3-10 years, whether used or not. Generally, the application scope is the most extensive. In addition to meeting the requirements of most thin film switch panels, the high transmittance of smooth PC can meet the requirements of liquid crystal display windows.
Sand surface polyester (PET) - 30 ~ 120 C 0.1 ~ 0.2 smooth surface resistance is good, insoluble in general organic solvents, alkali resistance. It has excellent mechanical properties, electrical properties, rigidity, hardness and the greatest strength and toughness in thermoplastics. It has low water absorption, excellent wear resistance, friction resistance and high dimensional stability. The tensile strength is comparable to that of aluminium film, which is much higher than that of PC and PVC. Low cost because the surface is difficult to be processed into sub-light type, textured PET is the most ideal substrate for thin film switching circuits. Textured PET is suitable for products with high surface requirements or LCD windows.
Thickness of material:
The thickness of plastic substrates is 0.25mm or less, which is called thin film. They are mainly used as the surface layer of thin film switch. The back of the plastic substrates is printed with various indicative patterns and words to indicate the operation area of the corresponding switch keys. The thickness of the plastic substrates depends on the size of the panel and keys. The material is thicker, the contact power is increased and the reaction is slow. It is too thin, feels bad when touching, and has no obvious rebound. Thickness above 0.25mm is called plate, which is not suitable for stereo bond forming. It can be used as an indicator panel of keyless operation area or as a lining plate of thin film switch to improve its hardness.
Line Layer Printing Materials:
Polyester (polyphthalate) film (Potyester referred to as PET) should be used as the base material of the circuit. It has good insulation and heat resistance, high mechanical strength, transparency and air tightness, especially flexibility and high elasticity. It is an ideal material for making thin film switching circuits.
