Contamination Prevention: This wax film effectively prevents contaminants such as construction site dust, cement slurry, and paint splatter from adhering to the uncured sealant surface, maintaining the joint's aesthetic appearance and cleanliness.
Ease of Cleaning: Even if contaminants do adhere, they are significantly easier to wipe away.
Controlling the Curing Process:
For certain moisture-curing sealants (such as single-component silicone sealants and polyurethane sealants), the microcrystalline wax film on the surface can moderately slow the rate at which the top layer comes into contact with atmospheric moisture.
Prevents ‘skin formation’: Avoids premature surface hardening that leaves the interior liquid, ensuring uniform and complete curing from the inside out. This delivers superior overall performance.
