The lubricating effect of micronized wax is primarily‘internal lubrication'. During the processing of polymeric materials such as plastics and rubber (e. g. , extrusion, calendering, injection moulding), the wax powder disperses uniformly within the melt, migrating between polymer molecular chains to reduce intermolecular friction, thereby lowering melt viscosity.
Key advantages:
Reduced viscosity and enhanced flowability: Facilitates easier processing and conserves energy.
Improved production efficiency: Enables higher extrusion or injection moulding speeds.
Enhanced surface gloss of finished products: Wax migration forms a smooth surface layer.
Reduced equipment wear: Provides lubricating protection for internal walls and screws.
Common Application Areas:
PVC Processing: An indispensable lubricant in rigid PVC pipes and profiles (door/window extrusions).
Engineering Plastics: Improves flow and demoulding properties during processing of PC, ABS, nylon, etc.
Masterbatches and Functional Compounds: Serves as a carrier lubricant, aiding dispersion of pigments or functional additives.
