This product is white or yellowish odorless, odorless, tasteless and flowable powder with screening rate of 40 meshes (> 99%), softening temperature: 135-140 C; apparent density: 0.35-0.61g/ml; decomposition temperature: 205-210 C; slow burning rate; equilibrium temperature: 23 C; 50% RH 6%, 84% RH 29%.
It is not only soluble in cold water but also in hot water. Generally, it is insoluble in most organic solvents. Viscosity changes slightly in the range of PH 2-12, but decreases beyond this range.
IV. Important Nature:
As a non-ionic surfactant, hydroxyethyl cellulose has the following properties besides thickening, suspension, adhesion, floatation, film-forming, dispersion, water retention and protective colloid.
1. HEC is soluble in hot or cold water and does not precipitate at high temperature or boiling. It has a wide range of solubility, viscosity and non-thermal gel properties.
2. The non-ionic type can coexist with other water-soluble polymers, surfactants and salts in a wide range. It is an excellent colloidal thickener containing high concentration electrolyte solution.
3. Water retention capacity is twice as high as that of methyl cellulose and has better flow regulation.
4. The dispersing ability of HEC is the worst compared with that of methyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, but the protective colloid is the strongest.
Solutions and preparation methods
1. Add the prescribed amount of clean water to the container;
2. Add hydroxyethyl cellulose under low-speed stirring, stir to all hydroxyethyl cellulose, stir until all materials are completely wet;
3. Stir until all the hydroxyethyl cellulose is completely dissolved and then mix with other components of the formula.
